Head of Care Residential Special School

 An exciting opportunity in an Outstanding residential school for 55 primary children with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs to lead and innovate within our long established residential unit. 

The Lodge, our residential unit, is a 10 place Monday-Friday boarding, term time, facility for pupils who attend Wolverdene Special School.  All pupils in the Lodge are offered a place to support their educational and social development; the right candidate will demonstrate an established practice and creative approach, combined with a genuine commitment to supporting children with the most complex and challenging needs.  As well as high professional standards and a proven track record of improving services, a sense of fun and enjoyment is essential.

As part of your management role, you will be a member of the school’s Senior Management Team and, as such, will be expected to contribute to the management of the whole school as well as the day-to-day running of the residential unit.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a proven record of securing high standards in learning.  They will have a passion for learning and a good understanding of the development of children with complex special educational needs.

A visit is recommended for interested candidates.
